Muffin’s Midday Motivational Minute:

“What’s in Your Life That’s Out of Control?”

Let’s not sugarcoat it today.

What’s in your life that’s out of control?

Is it…

✅ Your finances?

✅ Your business?

✅ Your emotions?

✅ Your relationship with your spouse?

✅ A friendship?

✅ A coworker dynamic?

✅ Family tension?

Or could it be something deeper…

Your unwillingness to surrender control?

Because here’s the truth:

If you want real change in your life, you must learn to surrender control of your life to God.

🕊️ Surrender Isn’t Weakness… It’s Alignment!

When you walk with God, the Holy Spirit strengthens you in the area of self-control.

Galatians 5:22–23

“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace… and self-control.”

Self-control is not natural.

It’s spiritual.

It’s thinking before you act, instead of acting and then regretting it.

It’s pausing before responding.

It’s asking, “Lord, is this aligned with You?”

🚨 A Dangerous Place to Be

It’s dangerous to:

✔️ Hear the Word

✔️ Believe the Word

❌ And deliberately do the opposite

Because of pride.

Because of stubbornness.

Because of flesh.

James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word… Do what it says.”

Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction.”

Romans 8:6 – “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”

Sometimes what feels “out of control” is actually a signal that something is out of alignment.

🌷 Relatable Scenario For Women:She knows overspending is stressing her finances.

She knows emotional reactions are affecting her relationships.

She prays for change… but keeps repeating the same behaviors.

When she chooses surrender over stubbornness, peace replaces chaos.

👔 Relatable Scenario For Men:

He struggles with temper, pride, or decision-making.

He sees the impact it has on his family and work life.

He knows what God’s Word says… but chooses control over obedience.

When he humbles himself and allows the Holy Spirit to lead,

clarity and stability return.

📖 Additional Scriptures for Alignment:

• Proverbs 3:5–6 – “Trust in the Lord… and He will direct your paths.”

• 1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your cares on Him.”

• Luke 16:10 – “Whoever is faithful with little…”

• 2 Corinthians 10:5 – “Take every thought captive.”

• Psalm 37:5 – “Commit your way to the Lord.”

✨ Affirmations:

• I surrender control to God.

• I choose obedience over pride.

• I walk in self-control through the Holy Spirit.

• I refuse to sabotage my own blessings.

• I align my actions with God’s Word.

• I will not cheat myself out of God’s best.

🙏🏽 Affirmation Prayer:

Father God,

Today I acknowledge the areas in my life that feel out of control.

Forgive me for trying to manage them in my own strength.

Help me surrender fully to You.

Strengthen me in self-control and obedience.

Break pride, stubbornness, and fleshly desires that block Your blessings.

Align my thoughts, actions, and decisions with Your will.

I choose Your best over temporary satisfaction… In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌟 Closing Reflection:

Sometimes what feels “Out of Control” isn’t your finances, your business, or your relationships… It’s your surrender.

And breakthrough begins the moment you let go.

So I’ll ask you again… What’s in your life that’s out of control?

🧠 Thought-Provoking Questions for Reflection:

• How will this affect me spiritually, financially, and physically?

• How will this affect how others see me? (Not perfection — but faithfulness.)

• What are the consequences of my actions?

• Is the fruit of the Spirit being displayed in my life daily?

• What am I doing in my life that’s cheating me out of God’s best?

• What am I doing that’s blocking the blessings God has for me right now?
